Divine Inspiration: John Murphy
Hi all,
Today I return to this section dedicated to highlighting "similarities" between different soundtracks. And for that, we now have material from John Murphy. Here
we have the main theme (and in my opinion quite nice) he composed for the film "28 Weeks Later," sequel to "28 Days Later" zombie movie that was a lot better, "Resident Evil" film franchise that own the same name. I inetersa especially from 00:30
then and attention because they may contain SPOILERS ON THE KICK-ASS MOVIE , we have two pieces written for the character played by Nicholas Cage, Big Daddy (Spain absurdly called in the movie "Big Daddy").
END OF SPOILERS
Actually this is not exactly a "divine inspiration" to use, as we saw with Hans Zimmer in Gladiator (that is, to pass own original material clear references to other works), because clearly the intention of Matthew Vaughn (director of the film) and Murphy's own referenced. Although without doubt, I think it is reprehensible to use the theme more than once (and thus imply that is the leitmotif of Big Daddy ), which can lead to not understand that, in effect, such reference.
addition to this "like", I would add two items from the Kick-Ass BSO thought to include in "Musical Notes", but I use and put them anymore. The first, which is the theme of the hero who stands towards the end of the film, the second is music to Hit Girl. Struck me as a soundtrack composed of three hands and with so much original material as well as could be in a movie as senior as Kick-Ass, which I think is one of the best comic book adaptations of the story, removing which squeaks in the work of Millar, Romita Jr. and putting things that improve the level of entertainment of the film (as happened in Stardust, Vaughn also).
Regards
